Britex Fabrics

I’m hanging out at twilight near the Pont de Notre Dame. I’m sitting on a park bench in my white leather cropped jacket with black epaulets fastened with red vintage razor-blade shaped buttons, stovepipe pants, and black high-topped sneakers. I watch the usual collection of motley one-legged urban birds lingering over stray bread crumbs and other debris near my feet, and then take another swallow of my Chocolat à l’Ancienne. My buttons remind me of the Ramones song “Needles and Pins”, so I tunelessly sing this ditty to the birds as the sun sets.
“I saw her today, I saw her face
It was the face of love, and I knew
I had to run away
And get down on my knees and pray, that they go away
And still it begins, needles and pins…”
